The Client: Albion College, a private liberal arts college in Albion, Michigan. The college was founded in 1835.
The Need: Albion wanted to be able to have a set of videos to utilize during the application process to increase applications, and deposits. The idea by itself isn’t revolutionary, however Albion wanted to target specific content at prospective students based on different criteria including personal interests, professional interests, and demographics. The ultimate goal was to create a series of videos that pulled students in and made them never want to leave.
The Production: Working with a few selected students, we spent time at Albion documenting their everyday experiences. Our goal was to show the ‘big school experience’ at a small, liberal arts college. We interviewed students, spent time with them and their friends getting footage, and were present for the big events like homecoming and commencement. Each student’s story, and their reason for choosing Albion helped create a personal connection between prospective students, Albion College, and the Albion community.
The Result: Our videos were instrumental in achieving a record number of new student applications, and early deposits. The success of the initial videos led to the ongoing #MyAlbion video series that will continue to connect prospective students to the Albion experience.
